Its single-knife helical cutterhead shears the material instead of chopping it, which lowers vibration and leaves a noticeably cleaner surface that needs less sanding. With a full 3-1/4" (82 mm) planing width and up to 3/32" (2.5 mm) depth of cut, it removes material efficiently without sacrificing control. Integrated V-grooves and a removable chamfer adapter support accurate chamfers and edge work, while the balanced, one-handed design keeps the tool stable through the entire pass.
Designed as part of the Festool 18V system, the HLC 82 pairs cordless freedom with dust management that keeps chips moving and surfaces visible. Dual extraction ports allow hose connection on either side, so the planer stays comfortable and predictable in tight or changing work positions. The brushless EC-TEC motor maintains consistent performance even at full depth and stops the cutterhead quickly to protect the workpiece.
